NFWSD

Welcome to our brand new Website. I hope you will continue to keep an eye on its development from time to time. We hope to keep you up to date with events, photos and our programme for the year. Different events happen during our year so eyes peeled.

I was voted in as chair last year so I may be around for some time. I have served on the committee a few times and you may recognise my name as I was Secretary for 5 years.I have been a member of this Guild for more years than I care to remember, but they have been happy years and I have made many friends. Not only this guild but by attending various meetings of other guilds and of course our Association (www.wsd.org.uk), Summer Schools are a way of learning new skills and spending a week with like minded people. As the New Forest Guild we are also a part of the Southwest Area. This group consists of about twelve guilds coming together and helping one another with Association business and just sharing ideas with one another.

We would be pleased to see any of you at our meetings whether you already belong to another guild or would like to come along perhaps for the first time. Even if you do not spin/weave or dye our speakers reflect textiles, so if you embroider you could perhaps dye your own silk threads.

I hope I have wet your appetite to come and see what we are all about. Members from abroad have come to visit us before now and through the web I have visited groups in Australia and New Zealand.

So have a look through our History and enjoy the website.

Bye for now

Chris
