Local Ryelands Lambs
The NFGWSD have been awarded a grant by the New Forest LEADER+ 2000-2006 programme to enable us to promote the use of local fleece.
There are many breeds of sheep to be found in the Forest area, and also alpacas and angora goats.The different colours and qualities of the raw fleece add interest and innovation to our crafts.
We aim to encourage people to try our crafts, and to contact local sheep breeders to source clean and well-sheared fleece.
